Less than five thousand words away from the minimum NaNoWriMo word count, Ask’s story is wrapping up, and it’s starting to look like another is beginning to take form– possibly something for Camp NaNo in either June or August.
Whenever I think that Ask’s first story might almost be done with the writing and first drafting part, it makes me feel giddy and a little frightened. Soon, Ask will be out in the world, and I like to think that someone will pick up his book from a new release shelf, read the back cover, and smile as the idea of a young goblin with a mysterious horse intrigues them. I like to think they’ll buy the book, and then curl up with it in their nest of choice, warm and comfortable, as they meet a troubled orphan ready to kill for his country.
I’m terrified, but very proud, and looking forward to several rounds of editing to fix the rough first half and the kinked-up back end.
